| Series: Harry Potter Genre: Normal Circle: Shooting Star Cinema Summary: It's Easter at Hogwarts! Dumbledore is so enthusiastic he gives everyone bunny ears! And then, an Easter Egg Hunt! Thoughts: If you're wondering what the Harry Potter cast might look like with ears, this could be your window. Snape is none too pleased with his ears, while Draco looks absolutely huggable! A fun doujinshi, while not my favorite, is recommended for Harry Potter doujinshi collectors.
Sweet Berry Kiss
| Series: Harry Potter Genre: Shounen-ai Circle: Zuihouzakura Summary: Harry, Ron, George, and Fred head out to Romania to visit the second oldest Weasley son, Charlie. While there, a baby dragon hatches (the twins are especially thrilled). But soon, a ill-mannered scientist comes by and hurts the dragon. Harry associates this with his life and goes nuts. Only Ron is able to calm him. Thoughts: Some people call this a "Yaoi" doujinshi, but it's shounen-ai at most, I think. Ron carries Harry at one point, and also kisses him on the forehead and they blush as well, but that's really it. Unless there is a discussion in Japanese I'm not getting (^_^;;) The scenes between Ron and Harry are adorable. I find the part where Fred and George decide to transform into Sailor Senshi to smite the evil-doer priceless (^_^)
Weasley Love - Twins Quiddich Go! Go!
| Series: Harry Potter Genre: Normal Circle: Zuihouzakura Summary: The first story involves the twins, Lee Jordan, and Harry at a Quiddich game. There is also a mini story about Percy and Penelope, and one with Fred and George as little youngin's talking to Charlie. Thoughts: I got this as a Christmas present and wouldn't dream of selling it. A Weasley Family centered doujinshi, so if you're a fan of these guys, check it out. Very cute artwork, and fun, even if I can't read it.

Mini Moni ni Omakase (Leave it to Mini Moni!) - Mini Moni vs. Bura Moni 1-5
| Series: Mini Moni, a Japanese pop group Genre: Novel Circle: Miri Kusunaki Summary: Info coming! Thoughts: Can't read of word of this. Though this looks to be a commercial printing I'm going to call them doujinshi novels simply because they LOOK like they would be - some of the artwork is kinda amateur. Anyway, I thought this was very, very cute! The cover art is very nice and I'm sure that if I could read it I would enjoy it even more. Recommended to Mini Moni fans.

School WARS
| Series: Slayers Genre: Normal Circle: Jolly House Summary: Lina and the gang take on roles as students in high school, save for Gourry and Xellos, both teachers. In this first book, Gourry is introduced. Thoughts: I found this book cute and fun to look at. The school uniforms work well and the characters are plopped into a new environment. Lina is not a sorceress (well, like the one she is in the anime) but she does practice magic. Zelgadis is not a Chimera but in fact his "before" self. How Gourry became a teacher I don't know, but he and Lina don't get along too great at first - she did run face first into him, thus their "introduction" and she is not thrilled. Xellos is not a mazoku but in fact a tea(?) loving teacher. Despite the language barrier this book is still fun to look through. Haven't you ever wondered how the Slayers would be if they were born in the modern world?
School PANIC
| Series: Slayers Genre: Normal Circle: Jolly House Summary: Another from the Slayers School storyline. Thoughts: Another winner. I should mention that I like this circle's art style, it's not complicated but I certainly couldn't draw it @_@ In this book, Gourry and Lina's relationship is discussed. Lina denies any feelings (outwardly and inwardly, although she does blush when she thinks about him) and Gourry is just his clueless self. I do believe there is a discussion outside the school where Zelgadis talks to Gourry about Lina, and probably asks him how he feels about her, but Gourry doesn't get it.
School TABLE
| Series: Slayers Genre: Normal Circle: Jolly House Summary: Just what is Xellos-sensei up to? The Slayers intend to find out! Boy did that sound corny (^_^::) Thoughts: Gone are the talks in the pubs. When the Slayers want to have discussions, it's in the classroom around the desks (^_^) Anyway, although I know very little on what's going on, it seems the Slayers are trying to figure something out, and it involves Xellos and a mysterious woman (the principal? a teacher? I really have no clue). At the end of the book, Lina and Gourry peep on a conversation, only to confront the woman and Xellos. A continuation of the Slayers School series, and a must have to make it complete!
School FIGHT
| Series: Slayers Genre: Normal Circle: Jolly House Summary: More Slayers school fun continues. The characters interact and... stuff (^_^::) Geez, I wish I could read Japanese. Continued from School TABLE. Thoughts: I think this is the last book in the series. The characters do their thing, the mysterious woman talks to Lina and Gourry, Gourry and Lina and Zel have a talk, Lina continues to deny her feelings, and so on.
School Wars Side Story: Mr. Zelo's Secret
| Series: Slayers Genre: Normal Circle: Jolly House Summary: A side story from the school series. The main focus is Xellos.
School Wars Side Story: Mr. Zelgadiss's Sufferings
| Series: Slayers Genre: Normal Circle: Jolly House Summary: Zel gets his very own book in the school series, and we get to see how he deals with school life. Thoughts: Hey Zelgadis fangirls! Like your Zel angsty? Then this is for you! Zel pines for Lina, deals with school, interacts with the gang, even gets injured by one of Lina's spells - she heals it up right away, though. I would recommend this to any Zel fan or those looking to complete the whole collection - this one you just can't pass up!
Lina + Gourry Book ?
| Series: Slayers Genre: Romance Circle: Jolly House Summary: Lina is getting married. Will Gourry object, or let her slip away? Thoughts: This is a really cute, romantic book. Amelia decides to step in and tells Gourry of the wedding, and Gourry doesn't quite know how to deal. At the last minute, Gourry stops the wedding and asks Lina if she would like to rejoin him. And she does. Imagine throwing a husband away for this guy! Awwww (^_^)
Lina & Gourry Only series (1, 3-5)
| Series: Slayers Genre: Romance Circle: Hide and Seek Summary: A mini series featuring the pairing of Gourry and Lina. In one book, Lina wakes up from a horrible dream, and Gourry is there to hug and comfort her. In another, after another one of their fights, Gourry kisses Lina and gets kicked out as a result! Thoughts: If you are a fan of the Gourry and Lina pairing, you may want to see these. The artwork is not perfect, and they are rather small and some are binded with staples (low budget I guess), it is still a fun and amusing time passer. There are many scenes that just scream "Awwwww!"

| Series: Spirited Away Genre: Romance Circle: ? Summary: Features a few comedy shorts (including Haku spotting Yubaba taking off her huge head of hair... to reveal a small head of hair underneath (^^::)), along with a sweet story of Chihiro and Haku sneaking off to gaze at the stars. Thoughts: Hmmm.... I'm noticing something with the whole "Haku, Chihiro, and stars" theme, heh. But this is so cute, I love Chihiro's enthusiasm and excitement when they get to the hill. Chihiro falls asleep while they are talking and Haku takes this opportunity to steal a kiss. That alone makes this doujinshi worth the buy. I love this one.
Oil House Diary
| Series: Spirited Away Genre: Romance Circle: Takeya Summary: When Chihiro gets a little roughhousing, Haku is there to save her! Then, after hurting her leg, a seemingly cold-hearted Haku shows he doesn't tolerate slacking... only to heal her leg and give her a piggyback ride! Thoughts: I'd say this is one of my favorite doujinshi that I own. I had to smile at the delightful scene where Haku is flying along and realizes Chihiro is "in danger," making it to her side in 0.3 seconds demanding to know if she is OK (^_^) The second big story portrays Haku as a cold-hearted and stern servant of Yuubaba, only to show kindness and gentleness to Chihiro when nobody else is around. It just makes me so sad that they eventually had to part in the movie. At least, with doujinshi, the story can live on.
Shifuku 1000 nen
| Series: Spirited Away Genre: Romance Circle: Amanoya Summary: A cute little book featuring Haku and Chihiro. In one story, Haku and Chihiro share an unexpected kiss. In another, they talk in the woods under a starry night. A little "side story" includes Haku eating Yubaba's 3 bouncing head guys (what were they called? Can't remember ^^;;) instead of rice balls and Chihiro is horrified. Thoughts: The cover art is the sweetest thing, but the inside art really isn't as good. I still think it's a nice doujinshi for Haku x Chihiro fans. |
